On Tuesday, May 20th, Cathy Pearson, A & M AgriLife Extension Agent, presented a program on Sun Safety during Pre-school Story Time.   She read two different stories to the children about characters that had experienced severe sunburn.  She also demonstrated several safety measures to take to prevent sunburn.  She advised the children to use sunscreen, to wear sunhats, to wear protective clothing, and to wear sunglasses.  The children then made a bracelet out of white beads that would change colors when exposed to sunlight.  When they went outside, the bracelets turned blue, pink, and yellow to remind them what the sun can do.  The more intense the sunlight became; the brighter the beads became.  Mrs. Pearson also gave the children their own pair of sunglasses to wear.
